Artists in Residence: Unpacking the Different Modalities, Successes and Challenges of the Artistic Residency.
At Kilele this year, four separate residencies are being hosted, with the hope and intention to create eye level artistic and cultural exchanges and fresh, exciting music and performances. Artist residencies differ dramatically in terms of their approach, format and cost. From writing retreats to high-pressure co-creation sessions, residencies at their best have driven exchange and sparked countless new projects, releases and tours. In this panel we look at some of the ingredients for an impactful project, as well as cast a critical eye on some questions about accessibility and application processes.
